Ray couldn’t put any more effort than he was in the days and weeks forming his training camp, but his coaches weren’t satisfied. If they weren’t on the same team, he was certain they were trying to betray him, pushing his body into a warning zone.
Truth was, they were a thoughtful group, and Ray appreciated them, especially with the biggest fight of his life tomorrow. While the unprepared possess weak, frayed nerves, his were cords of twisted steel.
“You got this!” they shouted as he entered the cage.
Ray walked to his corner, ready for success in this crucible.
