Some Sacrifices Are Too Great

She’d reached the end and beginning of the life she’d known upon serving her husband of twelve years the divorce papers. 

He didn’t see this coming. How could he? He was always a silhouette of a father and husband—far too busy for his family, work, or anyone else for that matter as he chased some lofty dream of becoming an MMA journalist. Missed soccer games, school plays, holiday parties, birthdays, anniversaries; it was just too much.

He’d confused close proximity under the same roof with an emotional distance that destroyed their relationship.

  1. This can and does happen, but it is what one learns and does with the new knowledge that designs the future and in some cases heals some of the past.
