MMA MMA Storytime Poetry Poetry Challenge

A Champ Battles Back

There’s nothing lucky about winning the belt:

Hours dedicated to the gym, black eyes,

Those caring of you see effort is heartfelt;

With the right person, dreams fertilize.

A bone’s socket rolls loose below tissue;

Cold winter rains cause creaks when a freeze blows through.

Patience and iron wills separate boys from men;

When it all falls apart, build it up again.
