Time to Walk

He was corralled behind the curtain like a rodeo bull. Just before being turned loose, a niggle in the pit of his stomach—the same wrenching every fighter experiences—demanded attention. 

Ignore it, he thought, but doubt crept forward. A brainstorm of questions swirled around his motives for fighting. 

Then, his walkout music and lionization of cheers under a spotlight following his every move answered all.
