Saved By the Rules

Prepared, hardened, but there’s still shock;

Trouble ensues, combos flying,

Body and mind think they’re dying.

Bludgeoning from a cinderblock?

Bones dipped in steel hand out a knock.

His eyes lost in desperation,

Tries to move, but hesitation.

A rapid shift from here to there;

The end is near, sighs of despair.

Rules stopped his annihilation.
