Flash Fiction: Next Time

Following a knockout, Ray’s fighter received minimal assistance, getting himself to the stool like a newborn giraffe. Denied entrance, Ray watched helplessly.

When Ray was finally granted access to his fighter, he growled at the doctor, “What’s wrong with you?”

The doctor’s cavalier attitude proved he was only there for a paycheck.

Next time, Ray would simply suffer the consequences of ignoring ridiculous protocols.
