Chris and several teammates exited the subway and headed toward their gym. Once they reached the street, though, a sea of protestors carpeted the city’s floor.
Maneuvering through the crowd was like walking through quicksand. After nearly thirty-minutes to cross the street, Chris asked, “How about skipping practice today?”
Everyone agreed.
People were everywhere—crammed shoulder-to-shoulder, balancing on street lights, hanging over balconies. Chris compared their efforts to that of an underdog in a prizefight: the courage in challenging a powerful force, and the risk to push forward, even after many others had been knocked down before.

Well done Dave, I imagine crossing the street in those circumstances to be very daunting. Thanks for sharing with tale weaver.
