Flash Fiction: Brutal

The region clamored for the clash between Mike “The Nail Gun” Nichols and Tom “Turmoil” Roberts.

Neither backed down, neither took their foot off the gas pedal, and everyone seated inside The River City Arena knew they were in for a treat of pure violence.

During the second round, the gas tank of Roberts drained to fumes, and Nichols began toying with him like a ball of yarn.

The crowd’s cheers dimmed when the battle became a brutal bludgeoning. Roberts was known to never-give-up, and the ref let things go too far.

An eerie silence filled the arena.

    • I’m a mega fan. I used to go all over my region of Northern California and cover the local fighters and fights. I already enjoy writing, but it was even more fun to write about MMA. When I got sick of dodging brawls at events and getting threatened by some fighter who didn’t like an adjective I used, I quit doing that. I made up this blog so I could write about MMA and aspects of the sport without putting myself in that environment.
