The well-designed game plan Curt’s team drew up seemed more like scribble art upon entering the arena; his nerves were frayed with anticipation.
Not only was Curt making his professional debut at Global Extreme Combat, the world’s most recognized MMA promotion, the show was expected to be a sellout of 22,000 screaming fans.
During the warm-up, Coach Armstrong could sense how unsettled Curt was in his labored movements, “You’ve got to block out the enormity of the situation and cherish the moment.”
Curt gave a nod, took a deep breath, and put on the scrap of a lifetime.
