Flash Fiction: Picture Day

It was Mr. White’s least favorite day: picture day.

After lining the class up according to height, handing each student their identification card for the photographer, and getting them to the cafeteria with their outfits and hair in pristine condition, Mr. White felt somewhat relieved.

The other half of the battle was positioning students to the photographers liking for a whole class picture.

Last year, Trevin wasn’t smile, so his parents filed a complaint at the district office; Mr. White wanted to avoid a similar issue.

Just as the class was ready for a long drawn out “cheeeeeeese,” Daniel turned his back to the camera. Mr. White’s head nearly exploded.

When his blood pressure lit up his bald head like Rudolph’s nose, the class went ear to ear with grins.

With some contrast adjustment on Mr. White, it was the perfect picture to behold.
