Five Line Fiction: Afraid

The arena thumped with a pulse; his heart raced in the rhythm created by roaring fans thirsty for blood.

Butterflies churned bile in the pit of his stomach.

Absent of any fear about the actual fight, he was afraid of failure.

“You prepared, and you’re ready for this,” Coach chirped in his ear.

The music hit the speakers, and he began his walk toward the cage.
